Plant Utilities Engineer 1, Box BAT-434/00603
The New York State Education Department's Office of Education Policy is seeking candidates for a Plant Utilities Engineer 1 position in the New York State School for the Blind. Candidates must be physically able to lift heavy boiler, HVAC, and/or auxiliary plant utilities parts. The duties of the position include but are not limited to:
o Operate, maintain, and repair the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Troubleshoot and repair the pneumatic, electric, and electronic controls associated with the HVAC systems; o Maintain appropriate inventories for the maintenance and repair of the various HVAC systems; o Maintain low-pressure steam boilers, boiler water treatment and their associated controls at the highest possible efficiency; o Complete assigned tasks following applicable building, electrical and safety codes; o Coordinate work daily with the Maintenance Supervisor 3; o Provide supervision for the maintenance department during absences of the Maintenance Supervisor 3; and o Assist maintenance staff (of all trades) with various assigned tasks.
