Job Description:
GENERAL FUNCTIONS:
The Digital & Social Media Assistant under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications develops and implements a comprehensive digital and social media marketing program that delivers high quality and targeted content to various target audiences for the College.
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of MarCom, develops, edits, and produces material for the College's social media platforms, website, and other digital promotion platforms.
Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of MarCom, develops, edits, produces, and distributes external publications, audio-visual material, press releases and other communications products.
Consults with faculty and staff members about College marketing needs; works with the Assistant Director of MarCom to develop digital and social media content for direct release, and through sponsored or promoted campaigns.
Adheres to graphic, production, and quality standards manuals; recommends ideas pertaining to identity and branding policies; serves as a collaborative resource to faculty, staff and the Assistant Director on branding and identity issues.
Assists in the analysis and evaluation of marketing trends and forecasts.
Brings suggestions for changes to marketing policies and procedures to the Assistant Director.
Represents the Assistant Director for Marketing & Communications at meetings, events and activities as directed.
Stays abreast of current trends or social media techniques, etc.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree (preferred) or Associate's degree in a related field required.
Experience:
One year of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Experience in many of the following social media platforms and digital softwares:
Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, Adobe Creative Suite.
Individual must be a self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities, consistently meeting deadlines.
Strong technology skills and outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are required.
Ability to work effectively in a process-oriented, collaborative environment.
Must be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity.
Is mindful of and develops accessibility solutions that can accommodate all individuals to use GCC facilities without barriers, both digitally and physically.
Additional Information:
RELATIONSHIPS:
Position reports to Assistant Director for Marketing & Communications and collaborates closely with other staff members engaged in marketing-related activities.
SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a full time, year round position (including summers).
Salary, benefits and conditions of employment are as set by the GEA contract.
Some evening and weekend duties are required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
