Summary:
Provide leadership and foster a team atmosphere in a retail-oriented environment.
The MIT will work extensively with the store manager to develop and build on communication and delegation skills, sales, merchandising, product knowledge and Point of Sale operations.
The MIT will also learn the financial and daily cash flow procedures.

Position Outline:
The manager-in-training position is a key management position in the store.
The MIT will receive hands on education in the store with the goal to become a store manager.
The MIT will progress from MIT to assistant manager and then to store manager.
The timeline will be determined by the performance and merit of the manager-in-training.
The MIT needs to be a self-starter and motivator to provide a positive example to the other store team members.
Along with the store manager, the MIT will be tasked with operating the day-to-day store tasks in an effective and efficient manner.
The MIT will also be expected to continue to educate and build upon their own skill set under the supervision of the store manager.
The essential job functions include (but are not limited to) are:
Provide top-notch CountryMax helpful service, including carrying out all products for customers and patrons Achieve sales goals and profitability targets in the store Delegate, manage, discipline, and educate the store team members Assist the store manager in day-to-day operations within the store Assist the store manager in evaluating the performance of the team members and creating a store schedule that keeps the store running at top level efficiency Regulate and control the overall store inventory with the store manager Operate Point of Sale terminals and financial transactions Follow the daily cash flow procedures including opening and closing the store along with identifying and correcting any cash flow discrepancies Manage the overall store maintenance and merchandising to keep the store presentable and neat Maintain a clean and safe environment Position Requirements:
The manager-in-training role will be based primarily out of a home store.
The MIT may also receive some education and training at the CountryMax Support Center.
The MIT may also work at several store locations and with several other store managers and assistant managers.
The MIT will need to have a willingness to travel and the ability to travel to several possibly assigned store locations.
The MIT will need to be open to constantly being educated and learning new elements of being an effective store manager.
The MIT will need to be punctual and be able to work a variety of hours and shifts.
A high energy, self-starter is a must for this position.

Previous experience in a retail environment is strongly preferred Previous management experience is not a requirement but is strongly preferred Valid NYS motor vehicle operator's license Proficient on a PC, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Experience operating a Point-of-Sale terminal is a plus Ability to lift to 50 pounds Ability to stand on your feet for a large portion of the store's operating hours Proven ability to work in a fast paced, retail environment Customer service and keen social skills are a must High school diploma is required, with a preference to at least 1-2 years of college education Job Type:
