Major duties and responsibilities include:
Administering, scoring and interpreting various creative and motor skills tests. Interviewing and observing patients to assess aptitude and interest. Planning and administering a variety of recreation therapy activities. Interpreting medical information in relation to disabilities, planning treatment, and evaluating patients. Work Schedule:

ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), No person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English. You must be proficient in basic written and spoken English in order to meet the requirements of this position. AND SPECIALIZED
Experience:
You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade in federal service (GS-5). This experience is close to the work of this position and has given you the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of this Therapy Assistant position. Specialized experience includes work as an assistant to one of the specialized therapies such as occupational, physical, manual arts, corrective, or educational therapy; or experience gained as an assistant or aid in patient care, social work, or psychology where the duties involved actual participation in physical medicine and activities of a hospital or clinic. Additional specialized experience includes:
administering and interpreting a variety of creative and motor skills tests; planning and carrying out therapeutic activities; using recreation and/or creative art activity modalities; developing patient treatment goals/objectives; documenting patient response and progress. (THIS EXPERIENCE MUST BE SUPPORTED BY YOUR RESUME TO BE CREDITABLE.) OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR
Experience:
You must have successfully completed one-half year (9 semester hours) of graduate education with course work that is directly related to the position of a Therapy Assistant. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
You must possess a combination of directly related graduate level education and specialized experience. (COPY OF TRANSCRIPTS ARE REQUIRED AT TIME OF APPLICATION) You will be rated on the following Competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire for this position:

A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
