Supervisory Inventory Mgmt Specialist

Plans, directs and manages the activities of the Material Management Section, to include the property management, equipment management, full warehouse receiving, and distribution. Transportation, mail center operations, and other sections may also fall under his/her purview. Synchronizes the section's requirements with other services/sections in the development of a sound course of action and rendering the correct interpretations and decisions involving all phases of the operations.requirements. Oversees the lifecycle management of non-expendable assets in the VA Western New York HCS. Develops multi-year equipment/MX plans for the entire VA Western New York HCS, utilizing advanced automated non-expendable planning tools. Participates in facility and VISN strategic planning, quality management of the equipment program, equipment replacement planning on a progressive basis, integrated with management budgetary plans and consistent with life expectancy of equipment. Utilizes performance improvement methodologies such as lean and six/sigma to improve the overall management of NX assets. Oversees the management and control of non-expendable equipment. Oversees the inventory management of all NX assets. Implements and monitors automated NX inventory management systems, including equipment accountability and data integrity. Implements best practices, principles, tools, and concepts to evaluate and improve supply system performance. Interfaces with peers, stakeholders, and customers throughout healthcare system. Plans and directs the Capital Equipment/Asset Accountability Management Program. Manages the equipment/ supplies loan program, Equipment Test and Evaluation program, Revocable License programs, delivery distribution, storage, transportation, mail center functions, warehousing, and coordinated management oversight with finance, acquisition, and monthly reconciliation of the General Ledger accounts. Supervises employees from separate but interrelated units comprised of the Property Management, Warehouse, and/or Mail Center and/or Transportation sections. Supports other elements of the organization and performs other duties as assigned. Open to all current employees of WNYHCS Buffalo and Batavia. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-9. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note:

Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-9 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Physical Requirements:
Supply management operations require special handling, storage, and spill containment procedures and training. Manages work around warehouse equipment, carts, or machines. The use of protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, safety shoes, goggles, hearing protection, and gloves is frequent. Observation of normal safety practices and observance of the fire regulations is required. Areas of work managed range from extreme temperature, humidity, and ventilation controlled areas to no environmental controls at all.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
