Mission Support Specialist

As a Mission Support Specialist, you will contribute to ICE Mission Support programs and provide advice in administrative specialty areas to supervisors, managers and employees. You will perform a variety of duties such as:
Coordinate and perform a wide variety of administrative and management services essential to the operations of the office including, but not limited to:
management information systems, telecommunications, budget, finance, procurement, human resources, training, logistics, property, space, records and files, printing and graphics, mail, travel, and office equipment; Advise management on assigned administrative matters; Conduct or participate in the evaluation of administrative programs, systems and methods and identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these services at the local level; Represent the office in dealings with vendors and organizations within the agency that have primary responsibility for these services; Operate, manage, and oversee a fleet management program including:
purchase, disposal, maintenance, budgeting, and reporting functions. GS-11:
You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following:
A.
Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the federal service, performing duties such as:
Coordinating and monitoring a variety of administrative projects (i.e. budget, personnel, travel, space, logistics); identifying and recommending solutions to a wide range of administrative problems; analyzing administrative data from a variety of sources to develop trends, patterns, profiles, estimates and studies; preparing preliminary and finished reports and documents; and representing the office in dealing with vendors and personnel from other administrative support organizations. B. Substitution of Education for
Experience:
You may substitute experience by a successful completion of a doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, such as a L.L.M./Ph.D. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university and demonstrate the skills necessary to do the work of the position. (A course of study in business administration, public administration, or related fields is qualifying.) Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise two years of graduate education. If that information is not available, use 36 semester hours or 54 quarter hours. C. Combining Education and
Experience:
Appropriate combination of successfully completed graduate level education and experience described in A and B above, that, when combined, equal 100% of the total requirement. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
