Incumbent performs the full range of light and heavy cleaning duties following strict aseptic techniques and isolation procedures, as well as other routine housekeeping duties. Duties include mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and cleaning a wide variety of surfaces and interior fixtures, vents, doors, window glass, waste receptacles, trash removal and linen handling. Incumbent must have skill and knowledge necessary to perform duties using strict aseptic techniques and keep the area free from possibility of cross-infection. Experience:
A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. Evidence which demonstrates you possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of this position must be supported by detailed descriptions of such on your resume or OF-612. Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Dexterity and Safety. (job element 86) Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
The position requires performance of work which involves light physical effort, such as that involved in using vacuum cleaners and dry mops; continually standing, bending, stooping and reaching; frequently lifting and emptying waste baskets; frequently pushing carts loaded with waste; and lifting and carrying items weighing up to 20 pounds. Also performs work which involves moderate to heavy physical effort, such as required to move heavy equipment and furniture, i.e., heavy industrial vacuum cleaners, heavy duty floor scrubbers and buffers, couches, beds, etc., and lifting, carrying and/or moving items weighing up to 40-50 pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS:
Usually works indoors in areas which normally have adequate heat, light, and ventilation's. Will be exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritations from strong cleaning solutions used in stripping floors, etc., as well as subject to cuts and bruises. Continually exposed to dust, dirt, and disagreeable odors, and is frequently exposed to organic material which may be contaminated and/or infectious and require special handling.
